The stock seems,to only act like fully automatic if I use 62 grain. Anything under that grain it seems to shoot a 2 or 3 Rd burst. I was hoping a 55 grain would work as they are cheaper than the 62 grain shells. I’m hoping that after I use it a few more times that maybe it will get broken in and shoot the 55 grain shells like the 62 grain

      Timothy,

I am having problems rapid firing and can only get 3-5 rounds before having an issue –

Below are a few situations where our customers have had the issues similar to this problem.
      1. The amount of pressure used to push the gun forward has been the biggest problem in regards to the effective use of Bump Fire stock systems. The amount of force needed is far less than most would assume, and only 4-6 lbs. of forward pressure should be needed. This should be just enough to barely pull the trigger, and any extra will counteract the recoil and restrict bolt movement causing miss-feeds or trigger reset failures to occur. There is generally a two magazine learning curve and for some it takes a few tries to get the “touch” right.

      2. Quality ammo is very important to the performance of our stocks. Our design works by using the recoil produced by the firearm. Lower quality ammo with less power cannot produce enough recoil to effectively operate the firearm with our product. The amount recoil given by a 9mm is the lowest amount of recoil generally recommended in order to properly use the Bump Fire stock system.

      3. The type of trigger your rifle has also can have an impact on operation of the Bump Fire stock system. We have seen consistent issues with triggers designated as “match” style triggers. Two-stage triggers or those designed for a light trigger pull have a tendency to cause problems with light primer strikes and inconsistent trigger resets.

      4. Magazine problems have been known to cause rounds not to eject or load properly which lessens the recoil and the effectiveness of the Bump Fire stock system on your firearm.

      5. Finally, make sure your finger is tightly seated on the finger rest and that it does not move while you are shooting you firearm. After years of shooting by moving your finger, it can be a hard habit to break. If your finger is not in the proper position to contact the trigger on each shot, it causes trigger reset issues.

Pistol Grip is huge and whole thing is made so quick as they are overlooking flaws in the craftsmanship that will CUT you, the plastic is Drilled/Milled out so bad. I am sending it back, even with it locked in “NON” bump mode, the stock feels way too short (no where near the length of a OEM AR stock) Also has a riding up feeling to everyone I have let touch it and press it against their shoulder. They all have AR’s and no one wants to take the time to sand/file it down to make it enjoyable to even touch the edges of the plastic or the tips of the pistol grip finger grooves. $129 + S/H =’d $145 is going back on my cc card.

well, I got the bumpfire stock , but the receiver module didn’t fit my Smith/Wesson MP15. I emailed them and after three days no responce. I am $160 down, and no way to recover. The only reson I gave them a one star was because they shipped fast, but also took my cash fast.

It slides off my buffer tube on my SIGM400 and the bumpfire is very loose and slides off when shooting. Will these not work with commercial and Mil-spec tubes?

    • bumpfire_admin

I’m sorry for the issue but I think I can help. It sounds like the locking pin has been set to deep to engage the buffer tube. To fix this, simply remove the stock and loosen the locking pin through the hole in top of stock a little to extend it and that should fix the problem. Let me know if you need anything else.

“What type of AR-15 will the Bump Fire work with?”

The Bump Fire is compatible with all standard AR-15 lower platforms equipped with an adjustable style buffer assembly. As long as your AR already has a collapsible stock, you should not have any issues with installation. Since it was not possible for us to test the Bump Fire on every AR on the market, Bump Fire recommends firearms built using mil-spec parts to avoid any compatibility issues. If you purchase a stock that is incompatible with your firearm, we offer a 30-day “No Questions Asked” returns policy. You can order by visiting http://www.BumpFireSystems.com.

Hopefully to answer any questions: Just received this and I’m very excited to use it! I was very happy that it came in a USPS envelope, not a branded box. I didn’t want everyone knowing what I was ordering due to the hype going on right now with the legality of (not really) “fully automatic” weapons. After opened, it was difficult to fit the handle piece on but with some pliers, I finally got it. The handle is a bit low to the trigger guard but not too awkwardly so. The stock is a bit shorter than I prefer, but I kept my extendable stock at full length. I also hope to add a rubber pad to extend the length another 3/4in. I ordered it around 23:00 on a Monday, the order was processed very quickly (before I was awake on Tuesday morning) and expected delivery was Wednesday. It came mid-day Thursday (but that’s because of USPS not BumpFire). It fits over my mil-spec buffer tube okay but is a bit stiff to slide. I will adjust the screw on the stock and also fire it some and we’ll see if it loosens up. Unlike competitors, this product doesn’t come with the allen key to remove the old handle, and fitting a standard key in the original mil-spec handle was near impossible. With a modified key and pliers I made it happen though. Finally, at the price I paid I didn’t expect the tool. That being said, I can’t wait to demo it.

Follow up to my previous review!
Customer Service: I was worried I would encounter issues when I read some of the reviews regarding customer service. I had no issues. My guess is that the best was to contact them would be using the email provided in the reviews as opposed to under the customer service tab, but I had no reason to contact them so I can’t say for sure.

    Compatibility: I put this on a heavy handle upper, Bushmaster XM15-E2S mil-spec lower with a mil-spec buffer tube. 5.56×45 NATO / .223cal.

If you don’t see a 3rd review from me in a week or so it means that this product functioned flawlessly (except maybe some learning curve user error). I will follow up if I have persistent issues.

I have ordered 4 of these stocks in the past. to place on my friends AR15 rifles.
what I have found that the pistol grip replacement part that acts as the Stock guide
for the bump fire action is to small when trying to fit it on the AR lower.
    from what it looks like.
when the part was molded, it was still to hot when remover from the master mold that caused the to side of the part to bind inward.
and the stock that mates with the guide bent inward as well.
the only way the bump fire action would work. I had to sand inside of the two part so
they would perform like they where meant to do in the first place.
if they would slow down a little bit and let the parts cool down before they are removed from the mold it would be just fine.

“It doesn’t work”…It was used in Vegas (Unfortunately) and et all heard the sound of it. It does work. Takes a lot of practice depending on your ability and motivation to learn.
“They don’t reply to messages… Be patient. This is not Amazon prime. I sent an email regarding my order two days after the Vegas shooting and got a response the next day. Pretty impressive considering they were so busy they suite crashed.
Now the lets get to the actual product (lol)… It works. Practice, watch YouTube videos, email customer service with your issues etc… I like mine.
And thanks to bump fire system for not highking the price despite the mega by the demand.

I cannot put it on my gun so right now I can’t use the gun and the company has not gotten back to me in over 2+ weeks so either send me a good unit or I will have to return the stock .

I received my bump fire stock and the receiver module would not fit on my mil-spec lower. It was not wide enough to fit over the area where it is supposed to be mounted, appears as if it shrank while cooling after being removed from the mold.

I received my bumpfire stock for my Sig Sauer AR a few weeks ago. I decided to install it the other day and found the “receiver module” wouldn’t fit my AR. I sent customer service an email and have yet to hear back from them. I used a head gun to open the module enough to fit but the hole for the detent spring doesn’t line up with the detent hole. I will have to use a demel to work this thing down so the spring will line up. I wouldn’t recommend these guys. I should have spent the extra money and went with a Slidefire.

Will it work on .22 and 9mm.

    • bumpfire_admin

      Rob,

The Bump Fire will work on any AR-15 platform equipped with an adjustable style buffer tube, but we do recommend using it on 9mm or higher for the best results. Bump Fire has not tested every .22LR AR-15 on the market, but we have tested an M&P 15/22 and it works great! Since the .22 LR does not have much recoil, great consideration must be taken to maximize what little recoil is produced. A few ways to maximize the recoil on your .22 LR are available, but always make sure that modifications made to your firearm are done by a qualified professional.
An important modification that can be made to maximize recoil is to switch to a drop-in “match” style trigger that offers a lighter pull. A factory trigger pull is higher and will absorb the recoil through the forward pressure used to pull the trigger. Getting comfortable with the lighter touch used while firing the .22 make take some time, but the touch has to be extra light in order to maximize the recoil available. Also, It helps to start with a light AR-15 with very few attachments and to use good-quality, high-powered ammo to help reliably produce more recoil and fewer light strikes. If you purchase a stock that is incompatible with your firearm, we offer a 30-day “No Questions Asked” returns policy.

      Thank You

Mine will not stay on my AR15. After reading the reviews it says that you need a collapsible stock for it to work properly. Why didn’t it say that when you are looking at the stock. So mine just slides right off the gun, even in the locked position.

I purchased the Bump Fire Systems stock over a year ago. compared to the price of the “Slidefire,” I thought it was a tremendous value. Today, the older, first generation of slidefire still costs more than the bumpfire.

I am very pleased with the product. It does take a few rounds to get antiquated with the procedure. A tight, but loose grip on the hand guard is what it takes. You basically keep forward tension on the hand guard to control your rate of fire, while allowing the upper to move back and forth with the recoil. Keep your trigger finger locked against the trigger block while holding the stock firmly against your shoulder.

A light coat of lube on the buffer tube will be helpful in reducing wear and makes for smoother operation. I used a dry (sentry solutions smooth-kote) lube.

The finish was a little rough on some of the edges, cost reduction in the molding tolerances, I would presume. Not a big deal to me, some fine grit sandpaper fixed that. However, that was over a year ago, that minor issue may have been addressed.

I added the bump fire stock to my first AR build 2years ago. The first time I took it to the range I couldn’t get the hang of it with the first magazine. I loaded and racked the second magazine and took a better stance and it fired flawlessly. Now here I am buying another bump fire stock for my second build.

Would think production quality issues be #1-2 priority? Shouldn’t be factor and have a better Warranty! Not sure why no-one responds, but will after a post! I’m sure “Bumpstock” knows and is working towards producing a great product and reputation. Most places that sell items as so, and etc. don’t respond or give real conversation. Will this work on a American tactical mil sport 9mm pistol ?

    • bumpfire_admin

      Mike,

The Bump Fire is compatible with all standard AR-15 lower platforms equipped with an adjustable style buffer assembly. As long as your AR already has a collapsible stock, you should not have any issues with installation. Since it was not possible for us to test the Bump Fire on every AR on the market, Bump Fire recommends firearms built using mil-spec parts to avoid any compatibility issues. If you purchase a stock that is incompatible with your firearm, we offer a 30-day “No Questions Asked” returns policy.

I bought my Bump Fire Systems stock early summer last year and it has worked flawlessly with all types of ammo on my Colt 6920. My best friend liked it so much I bought one for him as well. He is a Lefty so I ordered the Left-handed version and I installed it on his M&P15 and again has run flawlessly with various ammo types. I wanted to use it on my .22lr Colt/Walter M4 so I emailed the Company and they sent me an extra grip module which I modified to fit the different grip screw angle of the .22lr Colt/Walther. This also ran perfectly, though with a very different learning curve for the almost non-existent recoil of the .22lr. Thank you for a great product at a great price point compared to other far more expensive versions. Yes, I did have to bevel the sharp edges and clean it up a bit but I enjoyed the process. My single complaint is that when I lock my stock into “semi auto” mode it slips right out again but friend’s locks up without the same issue. I should have exchanged but it wasn’t too big an issue for me because I only install the Bump Fire Systems stock when I am at the range and want to use it (it’s really easy to install/uninstall). The rest of the time I keep my Magpul SL on but it would be nice to keep the Bump Fire Systems stock on. Sorry for the lengthy review!

works great. law enforcement showed up two hours after I had stopped playing with it and had to see it. then he came back the next day to test it himself!! LMAO!! said he wants one for his private ar-15!! I have to take my muzzle brake off or it won’t work. can’t use my pistol grip on the quad rail or it won’t work right. this is well worth the money and I want three more.

Shipping was very fast however the manufacturing quality control needs definite work, i experienced a lot of fitment issues. The receiver module that slips onto the lower wouldn’t fit, there was about an 1/8th of an inch interference on both sides. I had to insert a screwdriver and use a lighter to to be able to open the gap up and force the receiver module onto the lower. Also the sliding action of the entire system is very rough. Even with lube applied to the buffer tube and the receiver module there was plenty of friction to make the system not work as efficient. Sometimes the stock gets stuck in the forward position and i have to forcibly move it back out in order for the sliding action to occur again. I have not yet tried out if the bump action still works or not. If it doesn’t work i will definitely be in contact with the company in order to switch for a better manufactured product.

Overall for the price i think its a good deal. However i will not recommend this product if someone is looking for a good fit and finish product. Except to put some elbow grease in order to make everything fit and function correctly.

I love this stock. picked up two more. they work great. here is what I have learned. I had a outstanding muzzle brake. it removed all recoil. I had to take it off in order for the stock to work. the next thing I had to not use the pistol grip on the for end for it to work right. after that it worked flawlessly with both .223 and 5.56 ammo. I also use a little grease made for the bolts on bolt action rifles it help with friction. I love these stocks.

Derek Casey put Muzzle Brake back on!! there isn’t any reason for removing “Muzzle Brake” doing so very possibly destroy barrel, and isn’t in anyway “safe” Can’t believe Bump fire doesn’t have integrity – morals to advise you of such, Or Customer service is stupid! By the way no-one should need to modifying – adjusting manufacturers production of vinyl molding Unless purchased for $75.00 – $80.00 with free shipping! Means you purchased rejects that have flaws!

What buffer tube kit do I need. Or does the stock come with it?

    • bumpfire_admin

“What type of adjustable style buffer tube is needed to use the Bump Fire stock?”
Most commercial style buffer tubes will work, but after extensive testing, Bump Fire RECOMMENDS using a Mil-Spec Buffer Tube for the best possible fit. While it is rare, some commercial style buffer tubes have a larger diameter which could cause friction issues with the sliding motion of the stock.

    can i used this in M&P 15-22 ???

    • bumpfire_admin

      Andy,

“Will the Bump Fire stock work on an AR-15 with .22 LR or other small caliber upper receiver?”

This is an honest review. I hated this stock when I first got it. The finish on it was terrible and gritty. I could not believe I paid so much money for such a pile of plastic crap……..
But that all changed. The single thing that makes this stock suck is the jagged seams. They truly ruin any hope of this stock being any good, BUT………..
Take an a exacto knife or any razor type knife with a BRAND NEW blade and hold it sideways and run against all the jagged seams until butter smooth. DO NOT use a Dermal or any other buffering device on this unit just take your time and slowly scrape any and all rough edges away to baby butt smooth withn mere minutes just with that razor turned sideways.
I bought a Bullpup Unlimited conversion kit for the Remington 870 that came with the same issues and the company owner told me about how to smooth out polymer molds easily with a razor being scraed against the seams sideways. It truly makes it butter smooth.
Oh and it shoots good. Not as fast as I thought but it dumps $10.00 worth of rounds really quick. Too quick. 🙂

I bought mine a year ago.
It takes some practice to use, just like any accessory.

I dressed it up with some 3m “wrap” and also added a hook from my stock “stock” so I can use my paracord sling with it.

I had to drill into mine to make it, but what I did worked out pretty well and im happy with the product. I really hope that the recent events and the media don’t bury this company, as they did nothing wrong. I came back to leave a review to show support.

I just want to say to those who are worried about ordering, I placed an order then I sent an email and received a response with a tracking number. I received my order in about a week. I havent tried it yet but as far as ordering, I had no problems.

Got my Bump Fire Systems stock today. There were no issues mounting it to my Windam AR 15. Took it out for a “spin” and was truly impressed with the results. Only took a few tries and it did exactly as it was designed to do. Takes a minute to understand the technique, but the results were amazing. Going to take sport shooting to a new level. POO YA!

I took a chance and ordered one for my AR15 today. Hopefully it will ship quick. I am looking forward to using it ! I’m not even sure if they are in stock right now.

Used it on my old Colt in 7.62×39 from back in 1992.
Worked so great I almost pooped ’em!
Tried it with a fancy drop-in trigger and It didn’t work at all, so I went back to the stock trigger. Shoots WAY faster than a real full auto AK-47 because it is in the AR-15 platform.

I love the simplicity with how these stocks operate. There is nothing to them and the simplicity is genius!

They do take a little getting used to. If you don’t pull forward on the gun hard enough, you will not have continuous fire. If you pull forward too hard, you will not allow the gun to slide back in the stock enough to reset the trigger to fire again. There is a range of force you can use. It will fire slower at the lower end of that force window while you need to pull forward harder to get a faster cycle rate.

We had like 5 different guys all blasting away with one of these. Each one used a different amount of force and you could tell the cycle rates varied with the shooter.

Figured I better jump on the bandwagon and get them before they’re not available. I read a lot of reviews about fit and finish. Had me a little bit nervous. Went to the range with my friends after installing it It worked so good that my 2 buddies bought three of them. And I intend to buy two more myself. Outstanding for the price strongly suggest you get one before you cant. Overall the fit and finish on them was pretty good not perfect but truly not bad for the price

Hi, is this bump stock always active or is there a way to enable and disable the feature. I have seen some bump stocks that can enabled and disabled.

    Thanks,
    Don

I posted a review worried that this was a scam.
If i could figure out how to edit the review i would.
I got the stock after the ban announcement and i’m guessing they were overrun with orders. The customer service was hard to reach and even had supplied my credit card company with a bad customer contact number on the merchant receipt. It took two weeks to arrive. That’s where the headache ended.
I attached it to a dpms oracle 5.56, fit very well and looks good. Operation was easy out of the package. I put it on the gun myself and it only took a couple pulls before i was able to successfully bump fire.
I’m very happy with the product itself.

Do you have black right handed stocks in stock? I’m ready to take the plunge. The videos look like a bunch of fun! O’m hoping it lives up to the 5 stars I gave it.

Receiver module will not fit on on my Ruger AR-556 . Brand new, factory built model number: 8500. So either it just won’t fit on this particular weapon or the receiver module is defective. It’s a shame as I was excited about this product.

    • bumpfire_admin

      William,

It should fit on any AR-15 lower platform, but please note it is designed to fit very tightly. Some lower receivers mounting area is a little wider than others. If it is too tight, try tapping it onto your firearm with a rubber mallet. Also if you need to you can use a taped up flat head screwdriver to assist in getting on. The product is warrantied and if it breaks Bump Fire will be happy to replace it.

will this work on a Daniel defense v-11?????

    • bumpfire_admin

      Zack,

The Bump Fire is compatible with all standard AR-15 lower platforms equipped with an adjustable style buffer assembly. As long as your AR already has a collapsible adjustable stock, you should not have any issues with installation. Since it was not possible for us to test the Bump Fire on every AR on the market, Bump Fire recommends firearms built using mil-spec parts to avoid any compatibility issues. You can order by visiting http://www.BumpFireSystems.com.

If I purchase your product before (IF) the politicians criminalize the possession of bump fire stocks do you think we’ll be grandfathered in?

My DPMS has commercial specs on the buffer tube. Installed it and had no problems at all. Have had no failure and works great even with a 100 rd barrel mag. Just make sure you don’t loose the small spring when taking off the old handle as without the spring the trigger mechanism will not work and the bump stock will be worthless. Hope your wallet is full of money as you’ll go through some ammo in no time!

Yes it’s a little bulky but , with a little practice, it works fine. Does not work well with 100 round magazines but the 30’s had no problems. This is a novelty item and not a WSHTF tool. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I did mine.

    Hey,

are you willing to sell your patent to some chinese people or give it to a canadian company,
because lots of international customers without regulations onto this item are interessted into.

I would love to order one, as a german you are only allowed to own semi automatic weapons – with no legal way around – without any loopholes, except of bumpfire stocks…

    Thanks
