The stock seems,to only act like fully automatic if I use 62 grain. Anything under that grain it seems to shoot a 2 or 3 Rd burst. I was hoping a 55 grain would work as they are cheaper than the 62 grain shells. I’m hoping that after I use it a few more times that maybe it will get broken in and shoot the 55 grain shells like the 62 grain

      Timothy,

I am having problems rapid firing and can only get 3-5 rounds before having an issue –

Below are a few situations where our customers have had the issues similar to this problem.
      1. The amount of pressure used to push the gun forward has been the biggest problem in regards to the effective use of Bump Fire stock systems. The amount of force needed is far less than most would assume, and only 4-6 lbs. of forward pressure should be needed. This should be just enough to barely pull the trigger, and any extra will counteract the recoil and restrict bolt movement causing miss-feeds or trigger reset failures to occur. There is generally a two magazine learning curve and for some it takes a few tries to get the “touch” right.

      2. Quality ammo is very important to the performance of our stocks. Our design works by using the recoil produced by the firearm. Lower quality ammo with less power cannot produce enough recoil to effectively operate the firearm with our product. The amount recoil given by a 9mm is the lowest amount of recoil generally recommended in order to properly use the Bump Fire stock system.

      3. The type of trigger your rifle has also can have an impact on operation of the Bump Fire stock system. We have seen consistent issues with triggers designated as “match” style triggers. Two-stage triggers or those designed for a light trigger pull have a tendency to cause problems with light primer strikes and inconsistent trigger resets.

      4. Magazine problems have been known to cause rounds not to eject or load properly which lessens the recoil and the effectiveness of the Bump Fire stock system on your firearm.

      5. Finally, make sure your finger is tightly seated on the finger rest and that it does not move while you are shooting you firearm. After years of shooting by moving your finger, it can be a hard habit to break. If your finger is not in the proper position to contact the trigger on each shot, it causes trigger reset issues.

Pistol Grip is huge and whole thing is made so quick as they are overlooking flaws in the craftsmanship that will CUT you, the plastic is Drilled/Milled out so bad. I am sending it back, even with it locked in “NON” bump mode, the stock feels way too short (no where near the length of a OEM AR stock) Also has a riding up feeling to everyone I have let touch it and press it against their shoulder. They all have AR’s and no one wants to take the time to sand/file it down to make it enjoyable to even touch the edges of the plastic or the tips of the pistol grip finger grooves. $129 + S/H =’d $145 is going back on my cc card.

Works great! No problems at all on the type of ammo I used at all. The reason why this happens in my mind is you just have to learn how to use it.

well, I got the bumpfire stock , but the receiver module didn’t fit my Smith/Wesson MP15. I emailed them and after three days no responce. I am $160 down, and no way to recover. The only reson I gave them a one star was because they shipped fast, but also took my cash fast.

It slides off my buffer tube on my SIGM400 and the bumpfire is very loose and slides off when shooting. Will these not work with commercial and Mil-spec tubes?

    • bumpfire_admin

I’m sorry for the issue but I think I can help. It sounds like the locking pin has been set to deep to engage the buffer tube. To fix this, simply remove the stock and loosen the locking pin through the hole in top of stock a little to extend it and that should fix the problem. Let me know if you need anything else.

“What type of AR-15 will the Bump Fire work with?”

The Bump Fire is compatible with all standard AR-15 lower platforms equipped with an adjustable style buffer assembly. As long as your AR already has a collapsible stock, you should not have any issues with installation. Since it was not possible for us to test the Bump Fire on every AR on the market, Bump Fire recommends firearms built using mil-spec parts to avoid any compatibility issues. If you purchase a stock that is incompatible with your firearm, we offer a 30-day “No Questions Asked” returns policy. You can order by visiting http://www.BumpFireSystems.com.

Shipping is a Flat Rate of $11.95 for one Stock additional stocks in same order will increase Shipping in smaller amounts. It is NOT $11.95 for EVERY single Stock if order more than one at a time.

Hopefully to answer any questions: Just received this and I’m very excited to use it! I was very happy that it came in a USPS envelope, not a branded box. I didn’t want everyone knowing what I was ordering due to the hype going on right now with the legality of (not really) “fully automatic” weapons. After opened, it was difficult to fit the handle piece on but with some pliers, I finally got it. The handle is a bit low to the trigger guard but not too awkwardly so. The stock is a bit shorter than I prefer, but I kept my extendable stock at full length. I also hope to add a rubber pad to extend the length another 3/4in. I ordered it around 23:00 on a Monday, the order was processed very quickly (before I was awake on Tuesday morning) and expected delivery was Wednesday. It came mid-day Thursday (but that’s because of USPS not BumpFire). It fits over my mil-spec buffer tube okay but is a bit stiff to slide. I will adjust the screw on the stock and also fire it some and we’ll see if it loosens up. Unlike competitors, this product doesn’t come with the allen key to remove the old handle, and fitting a standard key in the original mil-spec handle was near impossible. With a modified key and pliers I made it happen though. Finally, at the price I paid I didn’t expect the tool. That being said, I can’t wait to demo it.

Follow up to my previous review!
Customer Service: I was worried I would encounter issues when I read some of the reviews regarding customer service. I had no issues. My guess is that the best was to contact them would be using the email provided in the reviews as opposed to under the customer service tab, but I had no reason to contact them so I can’t say for sure.

    Compatibility: I put this on a heavy handle upper, Bushmaster XM15-E2S mil-spec lower with a mil-spec buffer tube. 5.56×45 NATO / .223cal.

If you don’t see a 3rd review from me in a week or so it means that this product functioned flawlessly (except maybe some learning curve user error). I will follow up if I have persistent issues.

I have ordered 4 of these stocks in the past. to place on my friends AR15 rifles.
what I have found that the pistol grip replacement part that acts as the Stock guide
for the bump fire action is to small when trying to fit it on the AR lower.
    from what it looks like.
when the part was molded, it was still to hot when remover from the master mold that caused the to side of the part to bind inward.
and the stock that mates with the guide bent inward as well.
the only way the bump fire action would work. I had to sand inside of the two part so
they would perform like they where meant to do in the first place.
if they would slow down a little bit and let the parts cool down before they are removed from the mold it would be just fine.

“It doesn’t work”…It was used in Vegas (Unfortunately) and et all heard the sound of it. It does work. Takes a lot of practice depending on your ability and motivation to learn.
“They don’t reply to messages… Be patient. This is not Amazon prime. I sent an email regarding my order two days after the Vegas shooting and got a response the next day. Pretty impressive considering they were so busy they suite crashed.
Now the lets get to the actual product (lol)… It works. Practice, watch YouTube videos, email customer service with your issues etc… I like mine.
And thanks to bump fire system for not highking the price despite the mega by the demand.

Since they sent me a FAULTY Warped inward trigger unit/slide(bad production-my friend has an older unit and piece that is not warped). I cannot put it on my gun so right now I can’t use the gun and the company has not gotten back to me in over 2+ weeks so either send me a good unit or I will have to return the stock .
I liked the look of your stock better than Slidefire Systems but It look like I might have backed the wrong horse.

Giving this 3 stars due to the following issue:

I received my bump fire stock and the receiver module would not fit on my mil-spec lower. It was not wide enough to fit over the area where it is supposed to be mounted, appears as if it shrank while cooling after being removed from the mold.

I simply put a flat screwdriver in the slot, twisted it to expand the part slightly, and held it over our wood stove for a couple minutes and the receiver module slid right on ! altogether it took me seven minutes to install. and the stock works great, runs like it should .great product James

I received my bumpfire stock for my Sig Sauer AR a few weeks ago. I decided to install it the other day and found the “receiver module” wouldn’t fit my AR. I sent customer service an email and have yet to hear back from them. I used a head gun to open the module enough to fit but the hole for the detent spring doesn’t line up with the detent hole. I will have to use a demel to work this thing down so the spring will line up. I wouldn’t recommend these guys. I should have spent the extra money and went with a Slidefire.

Will it work on .22 and 9mm.

    • bumpfire_admin

      Rob,

The Bump Fire will work on any AR-15 platform equipped with an adjustable style buffer tube, but we do recommend using it on 9mm or higher for the best results. Bump Fire has not tested every .22LR AR-15 on the market, but we have tested an M&P 15/22 and it works great! Since the .22 LR does not have much recoil, great consideration must be taken to maximize what little recoil is produced. A few ways to maximize the recoil on your .22 LR are available, but always make sure that modifications made to your firearm are done by a qualified professional.
An important modification that can be made to maximize recoil is to switch to a drop-in “match” style trigger that offers a lighter pull. A factory trigger pull is higher and will absorb the recoil through the forward pressure used to pull the trigger. Getting comfortable with the lighter touch used while firing the .22 make take some time, but the touch has to be extra light in order to maximize the recoil available. Also, It helps to start with a light AR-15 with very few attachments and to use good-quality, high-powered ammo to help reliably produce more recoil and fewer light strikes. If you purchase a stock that is incompatible with your firearm, we offer a 30-day “No Questions Asked” returns policy.

      Thank You

Mine will not stay on my AR15. After reading the reviews it says that you need a collapsible stock for it to work properly. Why didn’t it say that when you are looking at the stock. So mine just slides right off the gun, even in the locked position.

I purchased the Bump Fire Systems stock over a year ago. compared to the price of the “Slidefire,” I thought it was a tremendous value. Today, the older, first generation of slidefire still costs more than the bumpfire.

I am very pleased with the product. It does take a few rounds to get antiquated with the procedure. A tight, but loose grip on the hand guard is what it takes. You basically keep forward tension on the hand guard to control your rate of fire, while allowing the upper to move back and forth with the recoil. Keep your trigger finger locked against the trigger block while holding the stock firmly against your shoulder.

A light coat of lube on the buffer tube will be helpful in reducing wear and makes for smoother operation. I used a dry (sentry solutions smooth-kote) lube.

The finish was a little rough on some of the edges, cost reduction in the molding tolerances, I would presume. Not a big deal to me, some fine grit sandpaper fixed that. However, that was over a year ago, that minor issue may have been addressed.

I added the bump fire stock to my first AR build 2years ago. The first time I took it to the range I couldn’t get the hang of it with the first magazine. I loaded and racked the second magazine and took a better stance and it fired flawlessly. Now here I am buying another bump fire stock for my second build.

If properly used could be entertaining – besides time. elbow grease, patients, without high expectations. $130.00 for Military mimicking with 30-day return policy one may find worthy! Would think production quality issues be #1-2 priority? Shouldn’t be factor and have a better Warranty! Not sure why no-one responds, but will after a post! I’m sure “Bumpstock” knows and is working towards producing a great product and reputation. Most places that sell items as so, and etc. don’t respond or give real conversation. But they want your money and your willing to trust and take the risk!
